Mucositis & Stomatitis

Mucositis is the inflammation of the mucous membranes that line the digestive tract. Mucositis/stomatitis occurs when there is irritation to the cells of the mucous membranes that line the mouth, throat, and esophagus. Symptoms of mucositis/stomatitis can begin with the feeling of fullness in the mouth, as well as some tenderness of the cheek and gums.
