Breast Mets to bones and lung
I’ve been on faslodex, Xgeva, and Ibrance for 2 years but changing to everolimus/Afinitor for recent lung mets. I’ll be making an appointment to see a pulmonologist to see what else needs to be done. I’d be very appreciative of anyone’s experience and advice since my lung Mets is new. Thanks and God bless.
Hello. I’m Donna. I’m 2 weeks on Afinitor. Horrible mouth ulcers, headache, sinus pain. Nosebleed a couple of times. Surprisingly, my lower back pain all but went away since I stopped Ibrance. It’s still mild but doesn’t require daily pain pills. Thank God for that! But I don’t know if these mouth sores and constant headache are worth it. I’m 58 and have dealt with the Mets with spine surgery and radiation for 2 years. I was originally diagnosed with stage 2 Er positive her2 neg and had lumpectomy, chemo and radiation in 2004. So I did have 14 years clear. But with the progression and symptoms, I’m starting to consider stopping altogether. My doc said I’d have months, not years, to live if I stop but no real guarantee of any better chance with continued treatments. Has your thought process gone there yet? Thanks for writing and I look forward to hearing from you again. Donna
Thanks Donna. I’ve very early into my treatment….so no bad side affects so far – just a slight headache, which pain meds took care of. The world situation is so unsettled I’m not sleeping very very…which is not good. I’m also praying I can get the C-19 vacinne soon – GA has been very slow in making distribution. I have Stage 4 breast cancer (also in the bone). So I have to be careful with my bones. Sorry to hear you’re having such trouble. Hang in there! We know God has his plan….I’ll keep you in my prayers. Thanks for sharing. Mary
